Security vs. Herding

I have two distinct types of working dogs I use to manage my goats.

The first are livestock guardian dogs (LGD), used for security,  these dogs live with and bond with the flock to protect them from predators.

The second type of stock dogs are herding dogs, they never bond with the goats and are used to move the herd at my command.

Both types have been bred and selected for thousands of years to develop these unique instincts.  Both are represented as distinct breeds.  Both are critically important in the management of my targeted grazing operation.
